Reviews: Fanfare Magazine: "a violinist´s violinist, Stahlhammer displays throughout both a dashing technique and a complementary tonal warmth, in addition to a genuine sympathy for the somewhat antiquated but hardly overstated Romanticism these works exude. Unhesitatingly recommended!!!" HiFi&Musik: "This is not nostalgia - this is music in its own right - already the Aulin Akvareller is value for the money." Svenska Dagbladet: "Historically interesting CD, but you listen mainly because of the beauty of the collaboration of these two chamber musicians: They create their own peaceful room in the roaring environment of the 1990:s. (...) These miniatures sound fresh and achieves through the interpretation a natural space also in our time." ÖstgötaCorrespondenten: "Stahlhammer is not only a tremendously skilled violinist, but also a ´missionary in music´ looking mainly at the artistic need for playing the odd and unknown." Dagens Nyheter: "Stahlhammer makes an impression not only by exposing unknown Swedish music, but also with his freedom and lyricism.” Gränslöst/Sonoloco: " The interpretations are throughout delicate, sensitive and clear. The intimate atmosphere brings the listener back to the last century." |

| OPERA: I-II |
| Semmy Stahlhammer is first Concertmaster at the Royal Opera of Stockholm. This double CD contains a collection of the most famous melodies in the opera repertoire, arranged for violin and piano. |
Reviews: MUSIKNYTT P2: "Every note is undressed and naked. You can not slide over or joke with any sound. Semmy Stahlhammer’s sensitive steady tone and masterly technique make this a great listening experience. " Ystads Allehanda: "This exposing recording technique conveys a transcendent intimacy. These are love duets, extremely sensitive, music under the blanket... The sincere interpretation of Stahlhammer is very musical, technically amazing and with a fine sense of clang!" Fanfare Magazine: "Stahlhammer emerges as a violinist´s violinist. These excerpts are real violin literature; and he plays them with convincing lyricism and, as in the Gershwin numbers, a sly coyness. Not every violinist - even among the best known - can capture the electricity of Heifetz´s arrangements as well as Stahlhammer has. Can be enthusiastically recommended!" Gränslöst: " As an admirer of old violinists like Ysaÿe and Zimbalist, not to mention Kreisler and Heifetz, it feel good to be able to listen to a contemporary Swedish musician who, with feeling and technique is reminiscent of these giants; can make big art from the small and simple." |
